TBD Bikes - Custom Shopify Store

Challenge: Building a dark, modern Shopify theme from scratch that matches the motocross brand identity while maintaining readability and strong product visibility against dark backgrounds.

Solution: I developed a custom Liquid theme with carefully chosen dark backgrounds (#0a0a0a, #111111), blue (#3b82f6) accent highlights, and clean typography using Bebas Neue and Inter fonts. The design ensures products pop against the dark canvas while maintaining excellent contrast ratios for readability.

Challenge: Beyond standard Shopify checkout, the client needed a custom inquiry system for tool requests, color customization, and bulk orders — functionality not available in off-the-shelf themes.

Solution: I built custom inquiry pages with categorized forms (General Questions, Custom Tool Requests, New Color Requests, Bulk Orders) integrated via FormSubmit. Product pages feature variant selection with real-time price updates, an image gallery with thumbnail navigation, and a full cart system with quantity controls.

Challenge: Ensuring the dark theme, product galleries, and inquiry forms work seamlessly across all devices — especially mobile, where most e-commerce traffic comes from.

Solution: I implemented a mobile-first responsive layout with a collapsible hamburger menu, touch-friendly product grids that adapt from 4 columns on desktop to 2 on mobile, optimized image loading, and backdrop blur effects on the sticky navigation bar for a polished mobile experience.
